In a significant step towards mitigating climate change and carbon emissions, Svante Technologies, a leader in carbon capture technology, and Samsung E&A, a global engineering and construction solutions provider, have announced a strategic partnership.

The partners will deploy standardized, skid-mounted modular carbon capture units (CCUs) worldwide. This collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to fostering innovative solutions for a lower-carbon future.

The collaboration aims to offer a comprehensive, integrated project delivery model for carbon capture plants, streamlining the process for industrial customers.

This includes the joint development of standardized advanced front-end engineering (FEL3) packages. During project execution, Samsung E&A is anticipated to be the exclusive EPF (Engineering, Procurement, and Fabrication) supplier of skid-mounted CO₂ capture modules, while Svante will provide its patented carbon capture machines and filter beds.

This integrated approach is expected to optimize project management and performance, facilitating the deployment of large-scale carbon capture facilities.

Together, Svante and Samsung E&A will actively identify, develop, and deliver commercial-scale carbon capture projects globally. The partnership offers a tangible pathway for heavy industries and energy producers in various regions to achieve their increasingly critical emission reduction targets, contributing to a more sustainable industrial landscape.

About the partnership:

The partnership was formalized at Svante’s Grand Opening Event in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, which also marked the commissioning of the world’s first gigafactory dedicated to producing Svante’s innovative filter technology. This state-of-the-art facility boasts the capacity to manufacture filters capable of capturing 10 million tons of CO₂ annually, a crucial milestone in scaling up carbon capture capabilities.
