Pune-headquartered Suzlon Group and Yanara have extended their partnership with two new 153 MW wind contracts for Yanara’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects in Barmer, Rajasthan. Suzlon reinforces its wind leadership in the state, while Yanara scales its multi-technology clean energy portfolio and drives India’s next wave of energy innovation.

Suzlon has over 2.3 GW of installed capacity in Rajasthan and a 44% market share. It is also executing additional EPC projects in the state totaling 791 MW.

For Yanara’s two FDRE projects in Barmer, totaling about 800 MWp, Suzlon will install 102 S144 wind turbine generators with hybrid lattice towers, each rated at 3 MW. The power will partially serve Yanara’s power purchase agreements with utilities including NTPC and NHPC.

According to Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, collaborations like Suzlon and Yanara are enabling India’s energy transition and sustainable growth. He notes that Suzlon brings 30+ years of sector leadership, while Yanara is developing hybrid projects across APAC, with their partnership now spanning Maharashtra to Rajasthan.

JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group, emphasized Suzlon’s continuous investment in indigenous wind technology. He highlighted that Suzlon’s Made-in-India turbines are designed for maximum lifecycle output and grid compliance, and perform reliably even in high ambient temperatures such as those in Rajasthan.

Jerome Ortiz, Chief Executive Officer, Yanara, said Yanara is developing pioneering projects across Asia-Pacific to accelerate the move away from fossil fuels. He stressed that the multi-technology nature of its portfolio requires trusted, large-scale partners and that Suzlon meets this standard in India.

Naveen Khandelwal, Chief Executive Officer, India, Yanara, noted that Rajasthan is a strategic market for the company given its strong wind and solar resources and supportive policies. He said the continued partnership with Suzlon underpins Yanara’s ambition to build a reliable multi-gigawatt clean energy portfolio in India, advancing the energy transition while creating long-term value for communities and customers.

Yanara is building a grid-scale portfolio of hybrid projects combining solar, wind, and storage to deliver round-the-clock clean power. This supports India’s universal energy access agenda and the 500 GW non-fossil capacity target by 2030. The Rajasthan projects follow Yanara’s 115 MW co-located solar–wind hybrid in Maharashtra, which is nearing completion and includes a 29.4 MW Suzlon wind order.
