Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate, Vingroup has formalized a strategic partnership with the Government of Telangana through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), for US$ 3 billion phased investments. Announced at the Telangana Rising Global Summit, this collaboration focuses on advancing smart urban development, electric mobility, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure.
Central to the initiative is Vingroup’s plan to launch India’s first large-scale electric taxi fleet and a Mobility-as-a-Service platform powered by VinFast vehicles, signaling a major step forward in e-mobility solutions for Telangana. The partnership also explores future opportunities in electric vehicle manufacturing and charging infrastructure, aligning with the state’s green growth objectives.
In urban development, Vingroup aims to create the Vinhomes Smart City—a flagship project spanning 1,080 hectares designed to house approximately 200,000 residents. This mega urban area will incorporate international-standard amenities and sustainable planning principles, expected to generate 10,000 direct jobs while minimizing environmental impact.
Renewable energy is another pillar, with VinEnergo proposing a 500 MW solar farm covering approximately 500 hectares. This facility will provide clean electricity to power urban zones, industrial areas, and Telangana’s expanding electrified mobility network.
The social infrastructure component includes integrated K-12 education by Vinschool, internationally accredited multi-specialty hospitals via Vinmec, and a V-Green electric vehicle charging network, enhancing the quality of social services in the region.
Telangana’s government commits to facilitating land allocation, administrative coordination, and connectivity infrastructure development, alongside exploring relevant policy incentives to support these projects. The collaboration strengthens the broader economic ties between Vietnam and India, showcasing the growing international presence of Vietnamese enterprises.
