SLMG Beverages Pvt Ltd, Coca-Cola’s largest independent bottler in India, successfully reduced its carbon emissions by approximately 16,000 metric tons in 2024 compared to the previous year. This substantial reduction was primarily driven by the company’s strategic adoption of green initiatives.
The company’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its operational shifts. 90% of its fuel consumption now comes from biofuels, and 38% of its energy requirements are met through solar power.
SLMG Beverages, a key entity of the Ladhani Group, plays a significant role in Coca-Cola’s national volume, contributing 23%. The company operates seven bottling units across Uttar Pradesh.
In a statement, the company affirmed, “SLMG has made notable strides in renewable energy adoption, with 90 per cent of its fuel consumption derived from biofuels and 38 percent of its energy needs met through solar power. In 2024, these efforts led to a reduction of approximately 16,000 metric tons of carbon emissions compared to 2023, reinforcing the company’s commitment to combating climate change.”
Beyond emissions, SLMG Beverages has also enhanced its water management practices. Through advanced technologies such as Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Lampack, and Mechanical Vapor Recompression Evaporation, coupled with efficient manufacturing processes, the company has improved its Water Usage Ratio.
