Geon (erstwhile Battrixx), the future technologies division of Kabra Extrusiontechnik Ltd., has officially entered the residential power backup market with a new range of high-efficiency lithium-ion inverter batteries.
The launch signifies a major strategic shift for Kabra Extrusiontechnik, marking its first foray into the business-to-consumer (B2C) space in its 60-year history.
The move expands Geon’s advanced energy solutions portfolio, addressing the increasing demand for reliable home power backup, especially in areas prone to frequent power cuts.
The new lithium-ion batteries promise significant advantages over traditional solutions, being lightweight, fast-charging, long-lasting, and requiring minimal maintenance. This translates to reduced overall energy costs for consumers while ensuring consistent performance.
“Kabra Extrusiontechnik Ltd.’s entry into the B2C space is a carefully planned move to accelerate Geon’s growth and strengthen our position in the fast-evolving battery industry,” said Anand Kabra, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Kabra Extrusiontechnik Limited. “With our advanced lithium-ion inverter batteries, we aim to not only address the growing demand for home power backup but also play a pivotal role in enhancing energy access.”
He underscored the strategic nature of the transition, citing strong R&D capabilities and a robust supply chain. He highlighted that recent cost reductions have made lithium technology a more affordable and practical option for consumers, reinforcing Geon’s commitment to “accelerating the positive impact of clean energy storage on everyday consumers and empowering them with smarter, safer, and future-ready solutions that last longer and lower energy costs over time.”
The launch positions Geon to capture a significant share in the evolving home energy market, leveraging its expertise in lithium technology to provide greener and more efficient energy storage for households and small businesses, the company said in a press release.
