Kyndryl, a provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services, has achieved the Google Cloud Ready – Energy & Carbon Designation in the Google Cloud Partner Advantage Program.

Under this expanded partnership, experts from Kyndryl Consult, who have deep knowledge in infrastructure management and climate action initiatives, will collaborate with Google Cloud on customer sustainability projects.

Customers will also gain access to Kyndryl Sustainability Advisor on the AI-powered, open-integration digital business platform, Kyndryl Bridge, to help organizations:

Assess and optimize IT infrastructures – Determine current energy usage and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and report on sustainability key performance indicators (KPIs) against industry baselines.

Organizations can also pinpoint inefficient, energy-consuming workloads across their technology portfolios and use the insights to optimize system and application performance while also staying on top of global and local regulatory changes.

Carbon-efficiency workload mapping – Use the comprehensive workload analysis of on-premise, hybrid and cloud-native environments to strategically place AI workloads in the most carbon-efficient regions of the world, enabling increased usage of renewable energy while being mindful of data sovereignty and regulatory requirements.

Build sustainable LLMs – Tap into Kyndryl’s LLM Operations (LLMOps) Framework to enable the development of enterprise LLMs without exhausting their carbon budgets.

Organizations can utilize Kyndryl’s full suite of data modernization services to optimize their data foundations for AI solutions.

The Google Cloud Ready – Energy & Carbon partner program connects customers with their validated partners around the world who provide access to AI-optimized, pre-built solutions for measuring and optimizing energy consumption and in-house reporting associated with carbon emissions.

Additionally, the program offers leading AI models and advanced agents, empowering organizations to build, measure, and optimize resilient and efficient AI solutions. Google Cloud Ready – Energy & Carbon is part of the Google Cloud Partner Advantage Program.

Kyndryl is one of the first services providers in the program to help Google Cloud customers design, develop and manage more energy-efficient IT infrastructure operations.

In a recent Kyndryl survey, 90% of respondents stated that they prioritized sustainability when implementing technology modernization initiatives, but only 27% reported seeing outcomes such as lower emissions. Additionally, 54% said it is a challenge to meet sustainability goals for their modernization efforts.

“The environmental impact of IT infrastructure is a critical business consideration as customers are demanding transparency, seeking to minimize the energy and carbon impact of their AI initiatives,” said Faith Taylor, Senior Vice President, Global Citizenship and Sustainability, Kyndryl. “We are thrilled to partner with Google to deliver what organizations need most — the ability to gain access to their IT infrastructure energy consumption with strategic advisory services that help lower emissions and create a roadmap for a more responsible, low-carbon future.”

It must be noted that Kyndryl continues to expand its partnership with Google Cloud to provide greater value to customers, having recently announced its joint efforts to accelerate mainframe modernization and the responsible adoption of AI among customers.
